I actually cut a lot out of this video in hopes of preventing potential triggers in other people. As a person suffering from pretty severe depression, I know how careful we have to be around certain topics to protect ourselves. If you or someone you love is going through something right now, please feel encouraged to seek professional help. It’s okay to not be okay.
I disappeared off the face of the internet for about 2 months because I’d fallen into the darkest depression of my entire life. I started hallucinating and felt intense paranoia constantly. It was a dangerous situation to be in, but for the last month or so, I’ve been getting the help I need and actively been working to better my mental state. I’m making this video for future me, because I’m sure there will come a time that I won’t feel this good.
The internet can be a scary place, but it can also be wonderful for documenting points of personal history. Just a few decades ago, families had home videos and photo albums. Now we have YouTube and Instagram. The only difference is, who you are is available for the whole world to see. Just remember what truly matters: do what makes you happy, as long as it brings no harm.
